Today was a weird day.

It didn’t start off well with my roommate watching Family Guy till 4 am and I had to get up at 9 am. The alarm didn’t go off.

In English class we were watching movie clips for the papers we’re going to have to write very soon. Forty minutes in to it the girl who usually sits next to me comes in out of breath. She usually does cause you have to go up two flights of some really steep steps to get to class, so I really didn’t think much of it.  But something was a little off so I asked if she was ok, and she broke slightly letting tears fill her eyes and she nodded no. Her eyes went from me to the movie screen and I watched her breathe heavily trying to fight off the sobs trying to break free. I wanted to comfort her so bad but I could see her struggle and instead decided to give her space and look back at the movie. Her breathing kept increasing till she ran out of the room. I watched her leave then in panic looked to the teacher whose eyes were wide with worried surprise. They awkwardly connected with mine, but I broke eye contact first and went back to the movie fighting the urge to run after her. She came back sooner than I expected and class ended, I gave her some advice about what to ask for from the teacher in a wavering voice and left her there while she stared at the table trying to hold it together.

On the walk back I kept replaying when I asked if she was ok and how her eyes reflected her pain, at the time my eyes had watered instantly in sympathy. It weighed heavy on me as I kept replaying it and I couldn’t help but think that she must have lost someone very important to her to cause such pain. Around then a late model sped by going at least 30 over while a car was about to turn. Which caused the speeding car to go into the oncoming lane and the turning car to break fast. The red BMW to sped away while the turning car was rear ended, all right in front of me. The college kids go out, pulled out their cells and were talking on them when I walked by. As I was trying not to stare I ended up tripping then making eye contact with the guy who got hit. At this point I was emotionally numb except for feeling of dread hanging over me. I kept walking and went on with my day.

A few hours later the girl texted me asking about what she missed in class, of course I told her and made a lame joke. She then texted me back and in a nonchalant way said her brother had died earlier in a car accident and she had run to class thinking an assignment was due. I couldn’t help but hate myself for being right earlier in the day and seeing her eyes again. I felt so helpless because I really didn’t know the girl but I told her multiple times that I am here if she needs anything. It was all I could do; no “sorry for your loss” or any other condolences could help this girl. I couldn’t help her, not in the way I wanted to. I can only hope that she makes it through this unimaginable tragedy.

While talking to my friend, Alex, online about the situation I thought that if I were in this girls place I wouldn’t be able to function. I love my sister more than anyone in the world and to loose her would cripple me.  I immediately called my sister and had an awkward conversation with a bad signal but felt so much better knowing that her lazy ass was firmly planted on the TV room sofa.

The think is I don’t even feel as drained as I did earlier because of my lack of sleep. I feel energized in the most negative way possible. Like low-level energy is sizzling through my body keeping me awake where just a few hours ago I was ready to sleep. I don’t know how I feel right now other than slightly ill with a heavy dull anxiety stirring in the middle of my chest.

My roommate is gone for the weekend, so I guess it will be a good to have time alone to think. Luckily I have my friends to vent to and my sister’s lazy bum will probably still be planted on that sofa tomorrow. 

Why is this scene so amazing? I’ll give you ten reasons!

10. The jacket throw down. (That must have weighed a lot to make such a big thud.)

9. The group dynamic between the team. I like them all smily and giggly.

8. Bones’ hand gestures, facial expressions, and the voices she uses are hilarious .

7. The connection between Booth and Bones while she sings.

6. LOOK AT ME! The crazy bitch played it perfectly!

5. Bones shoots a psyco chick in the neck!

4. Bones BOUNCES! (I never thought I would ever see that.)

3. Booth’s expressions while Bones sings. (Why does he carry a lighter?)

2. Bones can SING + the build up of the song along with the tension of the scene was perfect.

1. Booth’s ultimate sacrifice, which proves true love! Unparalleled cliffhanger!

Ok so it is SWEEPS SWEEPS SWEEPS. But it is so well written I shall not judge thee!

Crazy Character : Daisy Wick

Quirky, NEEDY AS HELL, and just as funny!

Bones! You have redeemed yourself and were so funny I just had to write a review of this episode! The whole lesbian plot line felt a little forced but major brownie points for pulling it off without being cheezy or insulting. Booth and Bones characters were even more lovable this episode, which is a little of a relief considering how dark the show was becoming. Oh and apparently fire axes are the new common weapon of choice, who knew?

Favorite Line: “Excuse me tiny little woman!” there were just Too Many to Count!

Best Character: The Whole Damn Cast Was “Da Bomb”!

 The Perfect Pieces in the Purple Pond

Zack is back and channeling Michael Jackson with the gloves. 

Returning Character:

Dr. Zack Addy 

But what is even more disturbing in the beginning of the episode is his complete lack of remorse, which begs the question “What did they do with the cute and cuddly Zack and who is this creeper in his place?”. Given time, though, through scenes between Zack and the other characters he is redeemed. 

New Character Alert!

Wendell Bray

Guess all those men they have been throwing at Brennan just wasn’t enough to make Booth jealous. Here comes the hot young guy to stir everything up, unfortunately I am just not feeling any chemistry. His conduct is off-putting, anger issues much?

Where are all those hilarious and slightly inappropriate conversations that we have all come to expect? I miss them…

Some major D’aww Bones + Booth moments in the end scene.  

Favorite Line: “Why does no one believe I’ve had sex?”

Best Character: Hodgins (He is bitchy in the most beautiful way!)

Tess Mercer

Got to say I am not hating the hair or the confidence, but who is she? The writers pull us in with another mystery at the beginning of the season (again), lets just hope we won’t have to wait to long for an answer.

Where have all the good characters gone? Oh yeah they are all missing….
The little alliance is searching for our Mr. Clark Kent while Lois Lane is searching for Chloe. But what happens when they’re found? Well lets just say the costume/makeup department had a serious budget cut. 

Is Lex dead? Probably not but I think we all need a break from him for now anyway. 

Is this the end for Farm Boy? I sure as hell hope so. Welcome to the paper Kent.

Favorite Line: “Change course we’re going to Montana!” (Jesus….Montana?…really?)

Best Character: Chole

The Finger in the Nest

Bones has always had a humor that is uniquely its own. This episode’s teaser didn’t fail to deliver the quick one-liners but the rest of the episode became more fulfilling in its quips. 

New Character Alert!

Scott Starret 

Why is this guy here? Not only is he annoying but he has the habit of killing the reppartee between the rest of the cast. He has some funny lines but I have a feeling that the writers are to thank for that. The character is grating and his fights with Dr. Hodgins have no purpose other than to show Jack’s irritability after his break up with Angela. I can’t wait to see him go, no offense to Michael Badalucco. Enjoy Arizona Mr. Starret!

This episode proved to be equal parts sentimental and cheesiness when it came to the dogs. Overall it wasn’t as lighthearted and fun as Bones usually is. The tone was more subdued almost as if the show was in mourning. I feel its pain because I am currently in mourning for this show.

Favorite Line: “God spelled backwards is Dog.” 

Best Character: Sweets
